This Epicenter Press product catalog for the Fall 2018 – Spring 2019 season was developed to include frontlist (i.e., new and upcoming titles) and backlist titles (i.e., old titles still in print). This modular catalog is designed to grow with the business, so that future titles can be easily integrated into the product line without the need for a complete re-design of the catalog.
The catalog information was compiled in Microsoft Excel. I designed the catalog in Adobe inDesign, with some photo editing in Adobe Photoshop. The cover photo credit is courtesy of Eun Hye Kim.
My challenge was creating a product catalog that not only displayed the frontlist titles in a manner relevant to sales representatives’ needs, but also including all relevant product information and cover images in the backlist within the page count requirements.
The backlist posed a unique challenge: each product needs to include the same base product information, but arranged by genre. I designed this product catalog so that each product is presented in the same size space, even though not all titles have the same level of information (for instance, some titles have longer titles or subtitles).

Fall 2017 & Winter 2018 Catalog
In this catalog, I explored a colorful design style by creating bookmark and “books on a bookshelf” icons in Adobe Illustrator.

Spring / Summer 2017 Catalog
This catalog included the complete Epicenter Press product list, including backlist titles (i.e., old titles still in print). I designed the backlist in columns rather than the rows you see in the 2018 -2019 catalog above. I learned through experience that this format is not as modular as listing products in rows, so I adapted my system for the later catalog.
